2nd editorial

Ted stevens, the former Alaskan Republican senator, who was charged with failing to report hundreds of thousands of dollars worth in gifts from an alaskan oil firm, has the Justice department asking a judge to dismiss his conviction. The government will also not choose to retry him. The government calculated that all of his gifts are worth an excess of $ 250,000. The reason he will walk free is because of Gross breaches of law and fairness by prosecutors. An agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who worked on the case also recently alleged that prosecutors had been willfully withholding pertinent evidence from the defense team.

March 2 editorial

My editorial for that week was on Obama being a big gambler and his address to the nation and how he said that trying to fix the economy with huge risks is better then doing nothing and watching the economy crumble. The other half of the editorial was explaining that his democratic advantage in the senate and house will allow him to pass the legislation he needs. The stimulus bill being one of them. It passed with no republican vote

My political cartoon was about global warming. The cartoon showed a man dressed in a coat for winter reading a sign on a post saying that a global warming rally was postponed due to cold weather. I thought it was pretty funny because the author is trying to say that even with all the scientist claiming that global warming is happening their are still some record setting winter weather.

My political cartoon was about The Isreali attack on Palestine. The cartoon showed a giant snake, labeled the Hamas, wrapped around an Isreali soldiers leg. The snake is biting the soldier's foot and and the Isreali is about to shoot the snake with a bazooka. The cartoon is labeled Snake bite remedy. The cartoon, I think, is critizicing Isreal for reacting with such force.

My political cartoon was about Obama's Senate seat scandal. The cartoon was a bid by Rod Blagojevich on ebay for Obama's vacant Illinois senate seat. It's a buy it now auction and the price is a substantial salary for Rod and a 150,000 do-nothing-job for his wife and some campaign money. The picture for the bid is Rod and a golden chair. The seller history says that Rod Blagojevich has been a scum bag for a long time

My political cartoon off cagle.com this week was focused on the bad year the stocks have had. The cartoon shows two stock people in hell talking to the devil, right next to them is a big arrow pointing down, its the symbol for the stock worth. The devil says that "he doesn't know what happens below." This represents the extremely bad year the stocks have had because of the recession and that no one knows how bad the stocks are going to get.

The cartoon has directions for a do -it-yourself political cartoon. There are labels at the bottom. They are The Deficit, Auto Industry, The economy, The constitution, America's reputation, Pakistan, Iraq, Stock Market, and the enviroment. The instructions are to put a label on the turkey. The labels and turkey are symbols for the problems Bush is giving to Obama
